APS HIGHLIGHTS - THE VALUE OF SPORTS
By
Lawrence Johnson, Director of Athletics
What is the impact of
sports? One might ask, how do sports benefit the educational process?
Sports promote citizenship and sportsmanship. Lifelong lessons are
enhanced as athletes learn the value of teamwork and self-discipline.
Sports are an extension of the educational program as evidenced in
higher grade point averages, higher attendance rates, lower dropout
rates and fewer discipline problems.
